Tom Forman’s Musical Study

Thomas Forman, one of the original students of Mr. Gurdjieff, was married to Tania Ouspensky, Mr. Ouspensky’s daughter. He had an intense interest in vibration and sound quality. Because of this, he became the sound “archivist” in many of the Group activities.

It is the recordings made by Mr. Forman that are on this site recorded on January 13th’s each year. Tom Forman had a long running partnership with David Lewiston of Folkways records and many of the things that he recorded became records in this company.

Mr. Forman also had Groups in both Philadelphia and Cleveland which you can see under the “Groups” heading.
